৪৪০ কোটি মার্কিন ডলারের অবৈধ সম্পদ জব্দ করেছে সিঙ্গাপুর

  মাত্র পাঁচ বছরে অপরাধ ও অর্থপাচার সম্পর্কিত ৬০০ কোটি সিঙ্গাপুরি ডলার বা ৪৪০ কোটি মার্কিন ডলার মূল্যের অবৈধ সম্পদ জব্দ করেছে সিঙ্গাপুর সরকার। এসব অবৈধ সম্পদের প্রায় অর্ধেকই গত বছরের রেকর্ড আর্থিক কেলেঙ্কারি থেকে জব্দ করা হয়েছে। বুধবার (২৬ জুন) মার্কিন সংবাদমাধ্যম ব্লুমবার্গের বরাতে এসব তথ্য জানিয়েছে  ফ্রি মালেয়েশিয়া টুডে । ২০১৯ সালের জানুয়ারি থেকে ২০২৪ সালের জুনের মধ্যে এসব সম্পদ জব্দ করা হয়েছে। এসব অর্থের মধ্যে ৪১ কোটি ৬০ লাখ সিঙ্গাপুরি ডলার ক্ষতিগ্রস্থদের ফেরত দেয়া হয়েছে। আর ১০০ কোটি সিঙ্গাপুরি ডলার রাষ্ট্রের অনুকূলে বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে। বুধবার (২৬ জুন) দেশটির সরকার কর্তৃক প্রকাশিত এক প্রতিবেদনে এসব তথ্য উঠে আসে। দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়ার দেশ সিঙ্গাপুর বিশ্বজুড়ে পরিচ্ছন্ন ভাবমূর্তির অধিকারী দেশ হিসেবে পরিচিত। তবে গত বছর দেশটিতে বড় ধরনের আর্থিক কেলেঙ্কারির ঘটনা ঘটে। শুধু ওই বছরই ৩০০ কোটি সিঙ্গাপুরি ডলার পাচার হয়। এমন ভয়াবহ ঘটনার পরই নড়েচড়ে বসে সিঙ্গাপুরের কর্তৃপক্ষ। গত বছরই অর্থপাচারের তদন্তের অংশ হিসেবে বেশ কয়েকটি অভিযান পরিচালনা করা হয়। বিশ্বে এখন পর্যন্ত অর্থ পাচারবিরোধী যত অভিযা

সুন্নত না পড়ে ফরজ আদায় করলে নামাজ হবে কিনা, যা জেনে রাখা প্রয়োজন

  ইসলামে সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিধান হলো নামাজ। এটি পাঁচ স্তম্ভের মধ্যে দ্বিতীয়। প্রত্যেক প্রাপ্ত বয়স্ক, বুদ্ধি-জ্ঞান সম্পন্ন নারী ও পুরুষের জন্য পাঁচ ওয়াক্ত নামাজ পড়া ফরজ। মহান আল্লাহ পবিত্র কুরআনে ৮২ বার নামাজের কথা বলেছেন। অনেকেই জানতে চান সুন্নত না পড়ে শুধু ফরজ আদায় করলে কি নামাজ শুদ্ধ হবে কিনা, শুধু ফরজ নামাজ আদায় করলে ওয়াক্তের নামাজের দায়িত্ব আদায় হয়ে যায়। ফরজ নামাজ শুদ্ধ হয়ে যাবে। তবে সুন্নত নামাজগুলো ফরজের পরিপূরক। হজরত আবু হুরায়রা (রা.) থেকে বর্ণিত হাদিসে আছে, তিনি বলেন, আমি নবীজি (সা.)-কে বলতে শুনেছি, কিয়ামতের দিন সর্বপ্রথম বান্দার কাছ থেকে নামাজের হিসাব নেয়া হবে। নামাজ ভালোভাবে আদায় হয়ে থাকলে সে সফল হবে ও মুক্তি পাবে। নামাজ যথাযথ আদায় না হয়ে থাকলে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত ও ধ্বংস হবে। যদি ফরজ নামাজে কিছু কম হয়ে থাকে, তবে মহান আল্লাহ (ফেরেশতাদের) বলবেন, আমার বান্দার কোনো নফল নামাজ আছে কিনা, থাকলে তা দ্বারা ফরজ পূর্ণ করে দেয়া হবে। এরপর অন্যান্য আমলের ব্যাপারেও একই অবস্থা হবে। (নাসায়ি: ৪৬৬; ইবনু মাজাহ: ১৪২৫) পবিত্র কুরআনে মহান আল্লাহ বলেন, পাপীদের সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হবে তোমরা কেন জাহান্

ডলার সংকটে কমছে ভোগ্যপণ্য ও কাঁচামাল আমদানি

  দেশে ভোগ্যপণ্য ও শিল্পের কাঁচামালসহ সার্বিক আমদানি কমছে। চলতি অর্থবছরের প্রথম ৯ মাসে মোট আমদানি কমেছে সাড়ে ১২ শতাংশের বেশি। শুধু শিল্পের কাঁচামাল আমদানি কমেছে প্রায় ২৫ শতাংশ। এজন্য ডলার সংকট ও উচ্চমূল্যকে দায়ী করছেন আমদানিকারকরা। অর্থনীতিবিদরা বলছেন, পাচার করা অর্থ ফেরত আনা গেলে দূর হবে ডলার সংকট। বাড়বে উৎপাদনশীল খাতের আমদানি। ডলারের প্রবাহ বাড়ায় ব্যাংকগুলোতে আমদানির জন্য এলসি খোলার হার বেড়েছে। যদিও, ব্যবসায়ীরা বলছেন, সরবরাহ বাড়লেও চাহিদামতো এলসি খুলতে পারছেন না তারা। পাশাপাশি, ডলারের বাড়তি দাম দিতে হচ্ছে বলেও অভিযোগ তাদের।  ডলার সংকট কাটাতে আমদানি নিয়ন্ত্রণে নানা পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে সরকার। এর ফলে, বিলাস পণ্য ও অপ্রয়োজনীয় পণ্যের আমদানি কমলেও, ডলার সরবরাহ খুব একটি বাড়েনি। ফলে কমছে শিল্পের কাঁচামাল, ভোগ্যপণ্য ও মূলধনী যন্ত্রের আমদানি। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের তথ্যমতে, চলতি অর্থবছরের প্রথম ৯ মাসে ভোগ্যপণ্যের আমদানি কমেছে ২০ শতাংশ। মূলধনী যন্ত্রপাতি ২৪ শতাংশের বেশি, আর শিল্পের কাঁচামাল আমদানি কমেছে প্রায় ২২ শতাংশ। কমেছে পেট্রোলিয়াম পণ্যের আমাদানিও। দেশের ব্যবসায়ীদের শীর্ষ সংগঠন এফবিসিসিআইয়ের সাবেক স

  A 17-year-old girl in the UK was rushed to the hospital after a hole burst in her lung after she vaped the equivalent of 400 cigarettes a week. According to  Metro , the incident happened on May 11 when the teen named Kyla Blythe collapsed and turned 'blue' during a sleepover at a friend's house. Her lung collapsed because excessive vaping had burst a small air blister known as a pulmonary bleb on her lungs. Ms Blythe then underwent a five-and-a-half-hour surgery to remove part of her lung. Her father Mark Blythe said, ''It was terrifying for me. I've cried like a baby. It was horrible to watch. I've been with her the whole time. It was life-threatening.   Increased subsidy demands from independent power producers (IPPs) and fertiliser suppliers since fiscal year 2021-22 have resulted in domestic arrears of about 1% of GDP Bangladesh needs to clear its electricity and fertiliser subsidy arrears within the next five years, according to a condition set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as part of its $4.7 billion loan programme. The international lender stated the condition in its "Staff Report" released on Tuesday (25 June) after approving the third tranche of the loan package. In the report, the IMF said the government has committed to avoiding any further accumulation of net arrears and plans to gradually clear these arrears through transparent transfers from the budget over the next five years. Every citizen to get 'unique health ID', 1.4 Million citizens included in pilot phase

  Health Minister Samanta Lal Sen informed parliament today that efforts to create a shared health record and provide a "unique health ID"  for every citizen  are underway. "The work of providing unique health IDs has started in certain hospitals on an experimental basis. So far, 1,403,889 IDs have been issued under the pilot programme," he said in response to a query from Awami League MP Mahmud Hasan Ripon. The minister mentioned that 67 hospitals have been included in the automation initiative as part of the HIS and e-Health operation plan led by the MIS branch of the Department of Health. Addressing dengue management, Sen said the MIS branch has developed an online platform for dengue reporting, ensuring immediate availability of test results and preventing duplicate reports. "Dengue focal persons have been appointed in all government medical college hospitals and district headquarters hospitals to manage logistics," he added. Currently, 2,15,752 litres

এবার চলন্ত ট্রেনের ছাদে দেখা মিলল সাপের

  দেশজুড়ে রাসেলস ভাইপার নিয়ে যখন আতঙ্কে দিন কাটছে মানুষের তখন চলন্ত ট্রেনের ছাদে দেখা মিলল একটি সাপের। বগুড়ার সান্তাহার রেলস্টেশন থেকে পঞ্চগড়গামী একটি ট্রেনে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। এতে যাত্রীদের মাঝে আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টি হয়। বুধবার (২৬ জুন) সান্তাহার রেলস্টেশন থেকে পঞ্চগড়ের উদ্দেশ্যে ছেড়ে যায় আন্তঃনগর দোলনচাঁপা এক্সপ্রেস। ওই ট্রেনের ছাদে যাত্রীরা একটি সাপ দেখতে পান। যদিও ট্রেনটি পঞ্চগড়ের বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সিরাজুল ইসলাম রেলস্টেশনে পৌঁছালে সাপটির উপস্থিতি পাওয়া যায়নি। জানা গেছে, বুধবার বেলা ১১টায় ট্রেনের ছাদে সাপ দেখার পর যাত্রীরা দায়িত্বরতদের অবগত করেন। ট্রেনটি রাত ১১টার সময় পঞ্চগড় বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সিরাজুল ইসলাম রেলস্টেশনে পৌঁছায়। রাতেই ট্রেনের স্টাফসহ স্টেশন সংশ্লিষ্টরা খোঁজাখুঁজি করলে সাপটির উপস্থিতি পাননি। এ বিষয়ে স্টেশন মাস্টার নিরঞ্জন রায় গণমাধ্যমকে বলেন, যাত্রীরা চলন্ত ট্রেনের ছাদে সাপটিকে দেখেতে পেয়ে ভিডিও করে আমাদের পাঠিয়েছে। প্রাথমিকভাবে দেখে মনে হচ্ছে এটি গোখরা সাপ। এর মাঝে ট্রেনটি স্টেশনে পৌঁছালে আমরা তল্লাশি চালাই। তবে সাপটি পাওয়া যায়নি। THE BUSINESS WORLD

  ঢাকা:  ছাগল–কাণ্ডের জন্য আলোচিত মোহাম্মদপুর এলাকার ‘সাদিক অ্যাগ্রো ফার্ম’–এ উচ্ছেদ অভিযান চালাবে ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি করপোরেশন (ডিএনসিসি) কর্তৃপক্ষ। সংস্থাটি বলছে, সাদিক অ্যাগ্রো লিমিটেড অবৈধভাবে খাল ও সড়কের জায়গা দখল করে আছে। এদিকে অভিযানের খবরে সাদিক অ্যাগ্রো থেকে আগেই সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে গরু। গত রাত থেকেই গরু সরিয়ে নেওয়া শুরু করেন খামারের মালিক।    বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল ১০টার দিকে সাদিক অ্যাগ্রোর সামনে গিয়ে দেখা যায়, রাস্তায় এবং খালের জায়গায় থাকা বেশ কিছু স্থাপনা ইতোমধ্যে সরিয়ে নিয়েছে তারা। এসব জায়গায় রাখা গরু-ছাগলগুলো সেখানে নেই। গত রাতেই এসব পশু সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন স্থানীয়রা।   স্থানীয় বাসিন্দা রকিবুল ইসলাম জানান, অভিযান হবে এই খবর শোনার পর থেকেই সাদিক অ্যাগ্রোর গরু-ছাগল গতরাতে সরিয়ে নিতে দেখেছি। এছাড়া রাস্তার ওপরে তাদের প্যান্ডেল করা ছিল, অস্থায়ী স্থাপনা ছিল সেগুলো তারা সরিয়ে নিয়েছে।   স্থানীয় আরেক বাসিন্দা মাসুদ রানা জানান, এখানে যে একটা খাল ছিল; অবৈধ দখলের কারণে এটি আর দেখা যায় না। এটি অনেকটা ভরাট হয়ে গেছে। অভিযান চলবে এমন খবরে সাদিক অ্যাগ্রোসহ আশপাশের অস্থায়
