ইতিহাস তৈরি করে ফিরল চন্দ্রযান, সঙ্গে নিয়ে আসা নমুনা থেকে জানা যাবে বিরল তথ্য

  প্রথমবারের মতো চাঁদের দূরবর্তী দিকের নমুনা সংগ্রহ করে সফলভাবে পৃথিবীতে ফিরেছে চীনের মহাকাশযান চ্যাংই-৬। পৃথিবীর একমাত্র উপগ্রহ চাঁদের ওই প্রান্তে আগে কখনও কোন যান অবতরণ করেনি। সম্পূর্ণ অজানা ছিল চাঁদের এই দূর্গম অঞ্চল। প্রায় দুই মাসের দীর্ঘ ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ অভিযান শেষে স্থানীয় সময় মঙ্গলবার (২৫ জুন) ইনার মঙ্গোলিয়া মরুভূমিতে চ্যাংই-৬ সফলভাবে অবতরণ করে। খবর  বিবিসির। বিজ্ঞানীরা অধীর আগ্রহে চ্যাংই-৬ এর জন্য অপেক্ষা করছেন কারণ মহাকাশযানটির নিয়ে আসা নমুনাগুলো কীভাবে গ্রহ-উপগ্রহগুলো গঠিত হয়েছিল সে সম্পর্কে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিতে পারবে। চলতি বছরের মে মাসে চীনের দক্ষিণাঞ্চলীয় দ্বীপ হাইনানের ওয়ানচাং কৃত্রিম উপগ্রহ উৎক্ষেপণ কেন্দ্র থেকে চ্যাংই-৬ চন্দ্রযান উৎক্ষেপণ করা হয় ও রোববার এটি চাঁদের পৃষ্ঠে নামে। চীনের মহাকাশ গবেষণা সংস্থা ‘চায়না ন্যাশনাল স্পেস অ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেশন’- এর মতে, চ্যাং’ই-৬ প্রথমবারের মতো চাঁদের দূরবর্তী দিকের নমুনা সংগ্রহ করে ৪ জুন (মঙ্গলবার) যুক্তরাজ্যের সময় মধ্যরাত সাড়ে ১২টায় পৃথিবীর উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা শুরু করে। সংস্থাটির কর্মকর্তারা বলেছেন, চাঁদের পৃষ্ঠ খনন করার জন্য

ডেঙ্গু রিপোর্ট নেগেটিভ হলেও চিকিৎসকের কাছে যাওয়ার পরামর্শ

          গত বছর ডেঙ্গুতে মারা যাওয়া ৪২ শতাংশ রোগী ছিলেন নমুনা পরীক্ষায় নেগেটিভ। আর ডেঙ্গুর সাধারণ লক্ষণ ছিল না ৩২ শতাংশ রোগীর। এ কারণে রোগ শনাক্ত ও চিকিৎসা শুরুতে দেরি হওয়ায় বড় ক্ষতির মুখে পড়েছেন রোগীরা। স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের মৃত্যু পর্যালোচনা প্রতিবেদনে এসব তথ্য উঠে এসেছে। অস্বাভাবিক লক্ষণ দেখা দিলেই চিকিৎসকের কাছে যাওয়ার পরামর্শ দেওয়া হয়েছে। ডেঙ্গু আক্রান্ত ও মৃত্যুর ভয়াবহ বছর ছিল ২০২৩। সে বছর মারা গিয়েছিল এক হাজার সাত শ জনের বেশি মানুষ। এর আগে এত মৃত্যু কখনও হয়নি। এত মৃত্যুর কারণ খুঁজতে রাজধানীর সাতটি সরকারি ও ছয়টি বেসরকারি হাসপাতাল থেকে সংগ্রহ করা হয় মারা যাওয়া ৯৩ জন ডেঙ্গু রোগীর তথ্য। স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের পর্যবেক্ষণে উঠে আসে, তাদের ৫৮ ভাগ রোগী হাসপাতালে ভর্তির সময় ডেঙ্গু পজিটিভ ছিলেন। বাকি ৪২ ভাগের ডেঙ্গু ধরা পড়েনি। স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের রোগ নিয়ন্ত্রণ বিভাগের পরিচালক অধ্যাপক শেখ দাউদ আদনান ইনডিপেনডেন্ট টেলিভিশনকে বলেন, ‘জ্বর এলে সেটাকে অবহেলা না করে হাসপাতালে গিয়ে ডেঙ্গু টেস্ট করানো উচিত। সময় থাকতে টেস্ট করালে রিপোর্ট যা আসুক না কেন দ্রুত পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া যায়। গত বছর অনেকেই দেরিতে হাস

বেনজীরের স্ত্রী-সন্তানদের দুদকে হাজির হতে নতুন সময় নির্ধারণ

পুলিশের সাবেক মহাপরিদর্শক (আইজিপি) বেনজীর আহমেদের স্ত্রী ও তার মেয়েদেরকে আগামী ২৪ জুন জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের জন্য ফের তলব করেছে দুর্নীতি দমন কমিশন (দুদক)। রোববার (০৯ জুন) হাজিরার জন্য নতুন সময় চেয়ে আইনজীবীর মাধ্যমে দুদকে আবেদন করেন তারা। তাদের এ আবেদনের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে সময় দেয়ার বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছে সংস্থাটি। বেনজীর আহমেদ ও তার স্ত্রী-সন্তানদের বিরুদ্ধে বিপুল পরিমাণ সম্পদ অর্জনের অভিযোগে অনুসন্ধান করছে দুদক। এরইমধ্যে তার ৬২১ বিঘা জমি, ৪টি ফ্ল্যাট,৩৮টি ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্ট, ১৫ শেয়ার ও ৩টি বিও অ্যাকাউন্ট জব্দ করে সংস্থাটি। তার স্থাবর সম্পত্তির রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ আদালতের মাধ্যমে তত্ত্বাবধায়ক নিয়োগ করেছে দুদক। সম্পদের উৎস জানতে ৬ জুন বেনজীর ও স্ত্রী কন্যাদের আজকে (৯ জুন) তলব করেছিল সংস্থাটি।   গত ২৮ মে জ্ঞাত আয়বহির্ভূত সম্পদ অর্জনের অভিযোগের বিষয়ে বেনজীর ও তার স্ত্রী-সন্তানদের জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের জন্য নোটিশ দেয় দুদক। সেই নোটিশে বেনজীরকে ৬ জুন এবং তার স্ত্রী ও সন্তানদের ৯ জুন হাজির হয়ে বক্তব্য দিতে বলা হয়। কিন্তু গত ৫ জুন রাজধানীর সেগুনবাগিচায় দুদকের কার্যালয়ে বেনজীরের পক্ষে তার আইনজীবী আরও ১৫ দিনের সময় চেয়ে আবে

In its latest installment, allegations of coercion and unfair land purchases have surfaced in Madaripur. About 90 acres of land have been found in Madaripur, which was bought in the name of ex-IGP’s wife Zeeshan Mirza using 113 deeds. These lands, mostly owned by Hindu families, were bought in phases a month until Benazir’s retirement in 2022.  Investigation revealed that many people were coerced, while some claimed to have been subjected to torture for refusing to sell land in Rajoir upazila bordering Gopalganj. Rising food prices drive up general inflation to 9.89% in May

          Food inflation surged by 54 basis points to 10.76% in May from 10.22% in April, while non-food inflation slipped 15 basis points to 9.19% from 9.34% in April   Just days before the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, expected to focus on curbing soaring prices, the country's general inflation surged to a seven-month peak of 9.89%, primarily fuelled by rising food prices. Food price inflation jumped to 10.76% in May, according to the latest data of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) released Monday (3 June). In April, food inflation rose to double digits at 10.22%. Food inflation has stayed over 12% for three consecutive months from August last year, before subsiding to single digits by December. Meanwhile, May's general inflation rate was the highest since October last year at 9.93%. It was 9.74% in April. Since March 2023, the general inflation rate has remained above 9%. Bhutan reduces fees for Bangladeshi tourists

  •The amount is equivalent to the fees levied on Indian tourists •Policy came into effect on Sunday Bhutan has reduced fees for Bangladesh tourists, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Department of Tourism of the Royal Government of Bhutan notified that it has revised its policy for Bangladeshi travellers.  As per the new policy, Bangladeshi tourists will only have to pay $15 per day as Sustainable Development Fees (SDF). The amount is equivalent to the fees levied on Indian tourists. Under the new policy, 15,000 Bangladeshi tourists can travel to Bhutan per year with reduced fees of $15.   Bangladesh and Bhutan enjoy special relations. The relationship has been further consolidated under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in recent years, the foreign ministry said. 100 'smart dustbins' to be installed in Gulshan; will sound alarm if anyone tries to steal it

           One hundred "smart dustbins" will be installed along different roads of the capital's Gulshan under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). Volunteer organisation BD Clean will install the dustbins which will sound an alarm automatically if anyone tries to steal it. BD Clean took up this project on the occasion of its eighth anniversary. Dhaka North Mayor Md Atiqul Islam inaugurated the installation programme today (3 June). Urging people to dispose of garbage in designated areas, the mayor said, "Carpets, mattresses, chairs, tables, and so much else pollutes canals and drains. Please don't litter in canals or drains."
